Why play

Built for short, tense sessions

A five-minute run

Every trip north is a self-contained loop. Jump in on a break, push your luck, and bank before you leave.

Instant to start

No download, no account, no sign-up. Open the page and you are standing in Emberrise in seconds.

Risk and reward

The tension of carrying a fat haul back past hungry raiders is the whole game. Greed is the enemy.

Long-term progression

Levels, tools and blades persist across trips, so every run makes the next one stronger.

How to play

One trip, four steps

  1. 01

    Land, then skill up

Start in Emberrise. Chop, mine and fish in total safety. Levels and gear stay with you forever.

  2. 02

    Cross the ditch

North of the bridge is the Wilds. Every ore, chest and kill up there is haul, marked with a skull.

  3. 03

    Fight for it

The deeper you go, the richer the rock and the nastier the raiders. Die, and your haul goes to your killer.

  4. 04

    Bank the haul

Back in town, hold still at a booth for five seconds. The pot pays out, and bigger hauls pay more.

A bigger haul takes a bigger share

A haul's share of the pot grows faster than its size, up to a quarter of the pot for a full 4,000gp haul. Shop spending flows back in. Slide to see what each trip would pay right now.

The world

Four zones. One way back.

The further north you go, the bigger the haul and the bigger the target on your back.

  1. 01

    Emberrise

    Safe haven · Town

Shops, bank booths, trees, rocks and a fishing pond. Nothing can hurt you here, so grind as long as you like.

  2. 02

    The Ashen Fringe

    Low risk · Wilds 1-3

Copper, oak and the odd lone raider. The easiest haul you will find, and the easiest to lose.

  3. 03

    Ironwood Reach

    Rising risk · Wilds 4-6

Rich ore veins, yew groves and packs of raiders who smell a full pack from across the ridge.

  4. 04

    The Black Deep

    Deadly · Wilds 7-10

War chests and gems worth a fortune. Everyone here is hunting someone. Tread carefully.

Progression

Six skills. Real progression.

Levels and gear are permanent. Die with a full pack and you only lose the haul, never your progress.

Permanent levelsUpgradable gearKeep Item charm
